Now, when I connect it, it starts to spin up but then spins down again. It repeats this a few times and then goes to rest (light still shining to show that it is "on"). My Macbook doesn't detect it, but at least my Windows 7 computer lists it in the device manager. The problem is just that it doesn't initialize and in disk manager it shows up having 0 byte of storage. I tried different recovery software and the WD diagnosis software doesn't find the hard drive. What can I do to save the drive. I would prefer to be able to reach the data, but I can live without that as the most important files are also saved on another drive.
