Seagate HDD I/O Device Error how to recover data

Q:

Seagate HDD I/O Device Error how to recover data?

My Seagate 1TB HDD was working when it spontaneously disappeared from my "Devices and drives" list in My Computer Windows 7. Upon checking its status in Disk Management, I am immediately prompted to initialize the drive. The choice of partition style is irrelevant, as either way I receive the error that "The request could not be completed due to an I/O device error." In the Disk Management window, When I enter the properties, it says that is it uninitialized and the partition style is not applicable. I also checked for outdated drivers, and I apparently am up to date in that regard. All of this puzzles me as it says that the device is "working properly", and it appears in Device Management, too.

I/O(input/output) error sometimes could be a results of some connection issues. So, you can start with swapping the cables as well as changing the port. Trying the drive on another system will not hurt too.
