"Recover files from unallocated/formatted HDD", I have a 2TB external drive that suddenly became unallocated last week. I read around and found a few situations similar and one of the most widely recommended applications was Recuva. I downloaded it and the program did not find my drive or lost partitions, so based on some answers I read I did a quick format and created a new simple volume. I made sure not to write any more data to the drive, knowing this could drastically reduce my chances of successful recovery. After that, Recuva saw the drive and got to work. However, nearly a third of the files didn't recovery fully. So, I would like to see if anyone has other suggestions as far as recovery software goes? I'm thinking my options might be limited since I added a new volume and quick formatted the drive, but it can't hurt to ask.
