"Micro SD card won't format in Windows or OSX" ,I have a 32 gig Micro SD card that was originally set up to run the Openelec system on a Raspberry PI. It worked fine in the PI. I no reason to believe the card is damaged. I have recently tried to format in OSX and Win 10 using the SDFormatter software. I've also tried to format it using Disk Utility in OSX and Disk Management in Win 10. The card contains two partions. The boot partition is only 255 MB. The remaining space is not recognized but I assume it's a Linux file system. Regardless neither OS I'm using will delete, expand or format to get the full 32 gigs. I've read a number of threads on here and none seem to have a similar issue. The locking tab is off on the adapter. I even tried formatting it with my Nikon Camera. After reading something on an Apple forum I tried to reformat the card using Disk Utility using Mint Linux. It appeared to do everything I needed until I plugged it back into my Mac and it still showed up as 2 partitions, one fat and one ext4.
