"My WD passport for mac powers up but wont mount" ,I've had my passport for mac (1TB), and it's always been fine. Yesterday I tried to eject it and a message came up saying another program (presumably VLC) was still using it, but I told it to eject anyway. Now it's won't appear anywhere. The light flashes and the disc whirrs, but it won't appear on the desktop, under finder, in disc utility and even WD's own software can't find it. I've also tried it on another mac, my tv and ps4 and no dice. Before this happened the disk was very full (about 50GB left) and had been struggling to transfer files for a few days. I'm kinda hoping that it just isn't drawing enough power from my mac air anymore, and a replacement cable should fix the issue. Does anyone have any other thoughts what it could be? Or if I can retrieve my files?
