"Nvme ssd won't let me boot up", I tried installing a Plextor M8Pe m.2 Nvme ssd on my Lenovo y720, but had no luck in getting it to work properly. The laptop does support pcie 3.0 x4. I had a single factory hdd installed in the sata slot and when i put the plextor in, the laptop wouldn't boot to windows and wouldn't even let me get to the bios. All i had was a black screen with the plextor logo, saying that a pcie drive has been found. I removed the plex and changed the bios from legacy to uefi, put the ssd back in and booted up fine. It was detected in disk manager, so I formatted it to GPT. I managed to install windows on it just fine. I did check the bios afterwards and it was only listed in the information section and not boot menu, only the hdd was. After that i wanted to change the hdd to an adata su800 ssd, when i swapped them, I couldn't boot back up, was stuck on:
